Traffic jams

More birthday shoutouts. Happy birthday my beloved Cousin Diding, Cousin Azura and Cousin Roni. Also to my beloved girls, Dee and Ika. =)

Busy day today. I joined the big crowd at the banks. It was such a headache to get stuck in traffic jams everywhere. Sore legs. I've always hated driving at times like this. However, I managed to get through all and done running all the errands. I actually brought my sister along. We had our very very very late lunch at Ideal before heading to my tailor to pick up my sister's dress.

We reached home few minutes before 7 pm but went out again to celebrate my cousin's birthday.

Moving upstairs

I had Thor and Jane for the weekend since bibehh went back to Seria. I put on the top floor of their cage again as now they are able to climb up the stairs. So, the house is no longer floating and Thor will not be able to sleep underneath it anymore. Boo Thor!

I feel kinda lifeless with no Adobe Photoshop in my laptop yet I still don't have time to search and install the program. All this while I'm only messing my pictures using Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. I can't even install Ulead Photo Express here and that depressed me a lot. X( Its much more simpler than Adobe Photoshop but believe me, Adobe Photoshop is much better. So, this is an outcome of a simple mess of Jane Foster.

Big 'makan'

A shout out to my cousin whose birthday is today. Happy birthday cousin Dewi. =)

It is another tiring Saturday for me. Me and my family went out for a stroll at The Times Square along with my aunt and cousin. We planned to have sushi for dinner but The Excapade was full and we can only get a table by 2100 hrs so we cancelled the sushi plan. Instead, we sat at the food court and had dim sum.

These are two of my favourites; siu mai and sharkfins dumplings. I just knew from my Chinese friend that siu mai is spelt as SIU MAI not SIEW MAI as usually written on the menu. I tried asking for explanation but she said something complicated and I went (+_+).

Apart from dim sum, I also had ayam penyet from Pondok Sari Wangi. LOL. I can be a big eater at times.

It was absolutely a fun time.

Black pearl

Day 3 of Term 3. I kinda dislike my new desk in the staffroom. They moved me to Amal's desk, right in between of Cg. Zana and Ust. Susi. Smaller desk and full of whoever's stuff. =/ It feels good to see my Year 1 angels again but Rezky had an extended holiday. Kinda miss that kid. I have a new kid who just transferred from Tutong. Now I have equal number of pupils in all classes.

I gave away my nameless white male hamster yesterday. I think I'm gonna give away a pair of my 28-day old agouti hamsters to my aunt soon. I hope she's not gonna take my black pearl too. Oreo is my favourite.

I put Lulu into the same cage as Wawa and the babies. I wonder why one of the babies likes to climb up the house and sleep on the roof.

And yes, as expected, they don't like the new food so I had to buy another brand. However, I still give them the food that they don't like. LOL. So it's a mixture of three! Two different brand of hamster food and sunflower seeds. I also give them roasted ground nuts.

On another note, I have to start a new file for my lesson plans. The other file I had was already full. Until now, I still struggle to write the SIMPLEST lesson plans which always dissatisfy me. =/

Guinea pigs

Last day of the holiday. Boo!

Me and my family attended my Uncle Iman's wedding this morning at the multipurpose hall in Serembangun. It was great to see my Form 6 'rival' who happened to be my aunt. =) I love the food catered by Haji Zainal's catering. Gonna put it on my list.

After the wedding, we went to visit the grandparents. Hate that I forgot to bring my cousin's DVD again. Blergh! Momme and grandpa were talking about the September thing which I tried to divert the conversation topic but nyeh, too late.

So I went down to play with these creatures called guinea pigs. My cousin's toys. LOL. I am not sure how these things can be turned as playthings. I can't even touch them. I mean they're failing all my attempts to pick them up. Personally, I don't find the guinea pigs cute, not as cute as hamsters but they're kinda interesting. I like the one that has the same colour as Morris and Luna.

Horizon

Cool and wet Thursday. The weather was just nice in the afternoon, no rain but not too hot like the usual days. Me and my sister went out to Pantai Berakas in the late afternoon. Its been a while that we didn't go there. Apparently, there weren't so many people, not as I expected.

Went there just to snap some pictures of what I think is interesting which might not be interesting to some. What??? Don't mind me, sometimes I do utter complicated things. =p The rest of the time, I just sit there and watch the sea, watch a group of people playing soccer (I am not sure what kind of soccer is that) while another group of small kids playing with the water and so on. I want to touch the horizon. The line where the sea and sky seem to meet but do they? What a sad love story. To people's eyes, they are together but actually they are not.

And some lonely things on the beach. If these things are alive (I know they once were) and feel the way human does, I wonder how would they feel being separated by the ocean, being apart from their loved ones and family.

And that goes to this angry bird too. Furious for being dumped. LOL.

After spending quite a while at the beach, we went to a pet shop in Lambak to get hamster food before heading to the Pasar Malam Gadong. I had to buy a different brand this time since the one that I usually buy is currently out of stock. I just hope the hamsters won't be so choosy aboutthe food.

Anyways, Kiki died two days ago. =( That explains her not eating behaviour. She has been weak days before she died and I did notice her fast breathing. All her 6 pups did not survive too. =(

However, Lala gave birth to another 8 pups so I had to move Fifi out from the cage.

Another day, another adventure

Tiring but fun Sunday. We attended my second cousin's wedding ceremony. It was a great wedding. My aunt brought all her six adopted children, three from Hong Kong and another three are local, to the wedding.

At the wedding, my cousins, aunts, uncles and I performed the Dusuns 'gendang' for the Hong Kong children. They were excited as that was the first time they ever saw it. I am so proud to be a pure Dusun born. There are just too much of the culture that us, the young generation, need to preserve. I can say that being converted to a Muslim is not an excuse for me to throw away all those customs and culture so I want to keep them alive for my children and the coming generations. Also, it's been a while that I haven't speaked Dusun too and I am glad that I can still speak the language quite fluently.

Some of them did try to learn playing the 'gendang' too. =))

After the wedding, we went to Tasek Merimbun, the heritage park with a Dusun legend. The place is great. We visited the gallery before strolling about the lake.

This is the 3D map of the lake.

The officers at the desk were very welcoming. They gave the Hong Kong children the brochures and a poster. Well, I got them too. LOL.

A peaceful view of the lake from the gallery building.

And if I'm not mistaken, this building is the place where the UBDians do their research.

These are some of the traditional hand-woven handicrafts and music instruments being displayed in the gallery.

Closer view of the lake.

There are three (or more) small islands in the lake. That includes the Pulau Labi Labi. I think most Bruneians know the legend about Pulau Labi Labi. There used to be a jetty, long enough to reach the Pulau Labi Labi. However, due to lack of maintenance, the authority had to remove them and now we can only reach the island by boat. Nevertheless, there is a jetty (and that is good enough) reaching to the first small island, Pulau Jelundong.

We encountered a group of caucasians from New Zealand and United Kingdom who currently are working with the Royal Brunei Airlines having their picnic on the island. This is the view of the mainland from Pulau Jelundong.

We were planning to go to Wasai Batu Mapan after that but noticing how fast the time flies, we cancelled it. So we went to my grandparents' house instead because the kids wanted to take pictures in the Bruneian 'baju kurong' and 'baju MIB'. I managed to persuade my grandfather to take pictures with the Hong Kong kids but I am not gonna put the photos here. =))

On an additional note, I think Kiki is sick. She doesn't seem to be eating or drinking. I hope she can still hold on for at least a week until the weaning period for the babies. =/
