I hate it when it comes to the class control issue. It's always been hard for me to achieve a well-silenced class when I am teaching. Not with my Year 1 babies. I don't like my class to be so noisy, however, I totally hate it when the surrounding gets really really dumb. To me, the first important thing to achieve when it comes to building the pupils-teacher relationship is to win the hearts of the kids through good teaching approach. I don't want the kids to look at me as a stern teacher but I still want them to respect me and learn at their best. So I am using rewards to achieve this target. Apart from it, I also use songs and stories so that the kids would find the learning fun plus interesting activities.
Searching for good materials for the rewards is not easy. I can't possibly buy stuffs like stationaries and books for the kids everyday just to impress them whenever they achieve my classroom behaviour and learning targets. I have to use stickers which I would put on their shirts or tudongs so that other kids could see. However, it's kinda difficult tofind reward stickers for the kids in Brunei nowadays. I used to see lots when I was a kid, so where are they? Pei gave me a box of stickers when she came back from Australia last January but I don't wanna use them yet. I have stars and smileys but they are very common and so does teachers' stamps! Even some of the kids own the stamps so I find them kinda boring.

Impressed by the work done by Kay, the CFBT teacher in my school, and some searchings on the web, I have decided to make my own stickers. I downloaded some cute fonts before choosing which one to use for the stickers and ta---daaahhhhh!
These are all the stickers and labels that I made.

But how could I be so careless! Some are still usable though which is a good thing.

But this one seems hopeless.

Also, I made this to label a corner to display my angels' work.

I have to get these labels laminated to that I could put them up at the display corner.

As for noise control, I feel like I have to use these. I haven't figured out how the design would be, I do have something in mind but I still have yet to decide.

Another thing that I love to do is getting the kids to draw. Usually, I do this when the teachers are called for meetings during school hour. I'd give the prefects plain papers and tell them to instruct my kids to draw and colour. I just love to see the kids' imagination portrayed on paper.
I chose four of my favourite drawings and laminated them. This is drawn my beloved Rezky. I like how he placed the swimming pool exactly infront of the front door. He said it is good if there is a break-in. The thief would run from the back door to the front door, when he opens the front door, he will accidentally fall into the pool with a SPLASH!

This is done by Indra. If I could give a name to this, I'd name it 'Sunshine in the rain'. I love the chickens behind the car. It's not so visible, I think he actually tried to erase them off.

This cat drawings are done by Rasyiqah. So cute! Cats with 6 legs and pointy ears that made them look like devils, and no whiskers! Haha. I drew the big fat cat for her and she coloured it.

And this one, I don't remember who drew this, she didn't write her name on the paper. This one is so lovely as it reflects the family life.

I'm sure I'm gonna get more drawings! =))
